New 5 star hotel in Thessaloniki

A listed building, a former tobacco warehouse in Thessaloniki will be transformed into a five-star hotel with a capacity of 44 rooms. The transformation is expected to be completed in December.

A new five-star hotel of high standards is coming will soon be added to Thessaloniki’s hospitality infrastructure. The listed building is on Dodekanisou 6 Street. It was a tobacco warehouse until the 1980s, and later housed insurance services. The building, which had been vacant for some years, has been purchased by an international RE investment fund which up until now had not been involved in hospitality.

From the investor’s perspective, the main concern is to restore and enhance the facade of the building, which was built in 1937 in art deco style. The project is being implemented rapidly, and the goal is for the hotel to open before Christmas. The construction of the new hotel has been undertaken by P4.

The building extends to approximately 2,500 sqm. It will have 40 rooms and and four suites. The suites will be on the 6th floor. The six-floor hotel will combine minimal and pop aesthetics along with industrial features. In the center of the hotel, in the interior, a patio will be created to best illuminate the building. In the basement there will be a spa – gym, and a meeting room for 40 people. A restaurant will operate on the ground floor.
