BoG: Apartment prices grew by 4% the last year

The most recent data published by the Bank of Greece, show that the residential RE prices are rising at an accelerated pace.

According to bank data, the rise in the first quarter of 2019, compared to the corresponding quarter last year was 4% for newly constructed apartments (up to 5 years old), and 3,9% for apartments older than 5 years.

The data analysis by region shows that the prices of apartments in the first quarter of 2019 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018 increased by 5.8% in Athens, 3.9% in Thessaloniki, 1.9% in other major cities and 2.6% in the rest of the country.

In 2018, the office prices in Greece grew by 7%, compared with an increase of 1.8% in 2017. The BoG data show that the nominal office prices of high standards recorded a 9% increase in Athens, 5.4% in Thessaloniki and 5.1% in the rest of Greece.
