Emesa Acquires Another Plot In Barcelona’s 22@ District

17 November 2017 – Eje Prime

Emesa Corporación Empresarial is continuing to buy land in Barcelona. The investment firm owned by the lawyer Emilio Cuatrecasas has acquired a plot of land on Calle Pallars, in Barcelona, in the technological 22@ district to build a new office complex measuring 9,200 m2, according to a statement issued by the group.

The new plot is located just a few blocks from Diagonal 191, a building that also forms part of the real estate asset portfolio owned by Emesa and which houses the headquarters of the law firm Cuatrecasas. The firm’s new project in this neighbourhood is expected to be finished by the end of 2020.

In recent months, the company has starred in several high-profile operations in the real estate sector in Barcelona, such as the purchase of the Diagonal 444 building, the former headquarters of Cuatrecasas; the acquisition of the Diagonal 632 building, which houses the headquarters of Quirónsalud’s Ophthalmological Institute in Barcelona; and several plots in Esplugues de Llobregat to build a business park with an above ground surface area of 37,000 m2, according to Eje Prime.

Founded in 1980, Emesa Corporación Empresarial is an industrial and real estate development company that holds a portfolio of assets worth more than €800 million, including the multinational in the restaurant sector Elior and the company Diagonal 191, the promoter of an office complex in 22@.

Moreover, last year, the company purchased the Ullastret Palace in Girona, with the aim of promoting a high-end hotel establishment, which will be the first of a select chain of hotels in El Empordà. Emesa Corporación Empresarial recorded revenues of €8.07 million last year.
