Melia To Open New Hotel ME On Passeig de Gracia

The Majorcan chain, which used to have a hotel under the ME brand in the 22@ district of Barcelona, has now chosen a much more central location for its return to Barcelona, which previously housed a Husa property.

The designer hotel brand ME by Melia is returning to Barcelona. It already tried its luck in 2008 with a hotel on Avinguda Diagonal, in the 22@ district, but the location did not work well and the chain withdrew the ME brand and converted the property into a more family-oriented hotel. Now, the chain has acquired the former Hotel Barcelona, on the corner of Calle Caspe and Passeig de Gracia, very close to Plaça Cataluyna.
