The year 2014 will come down to history as witnessing the largest number of REIT listings. Spanish companies of this kind, Socimis, have won hearts of investors scanning the real estate market in search of low-cost properties.
The Spanish Socimis offer dividends, distibuting 80% of the profit coming from rental returns and 50% of gains from asset sales.
In spite of that, only three of all the companies have appreciated since their IPOs. The best performs Entrecampos with +13.81%, trading shares since November 2013.
